Out of Africa – Kenya

“IN AFRICA…EVERYWHERE YOU LOOKED WAS MADE FOR GREATNESS” Karen Blixen
This body of work captures a deep appreciation for the pure splendour of the tribes that live in north Kenya. This severe, arid region is where our first ancestors Homo Erectus first walked upright and is known as
“The Cradle of Mankind.”
The ‘Out of Africa’ collection acts as a visual gateway into an immersive world of ‘timeless’ Africa that celebrates tribal life and its endlessly-shifting rhythms. Limited resources counterpoint the wealth of tribal culture that exists in this semi desert region. Often this area is prone to drought making survival extremely difficult for the local communities and poses the question of whether nomadic pastoralists can sustain this lifestyle for much longer.
