It was on the Sacred Signatures retreat that I took part in a personal one-on-one photo shoot with Louisa Seton, Sacred Feminine Photography. Never in my lifetime did I think I could be in front of the camera, naked. I’ve always struggled to be in front of the camera. Being seen was foreign and deeply uncomfortable to me so to be stripped bare in front of a camera was a big deal. The discomfort was there, AND so was the Sovereignty.

The whole experience is one I will honestly never forget. Louisa beautifully captured a time of my life when I was completely stripped back, raw, and vulnerable in every sense of the word. This shoot was very special to me as it gifted me with a precious memory to hold on to. I was almost 8 weeks pregnant when Louisa photographed my feminine form. Before my wedding anniversary last year, I decided to shoot with Louisa Seton, totally nude, and give the photos to my husband as his anniversary gift. Now that I had the time to reflect on the maternity photoshoot, I just wanted to send a message to thank you for the beautiful and special experience. Your energy was so grounding, calm and kind. The meditation before the shoot was all I needed, I was very stressed before that, but it calmed me down and brought me back to a peaceful and grateful state of mind. I have struggled for as long as I can remember with my body and being able to love It. But since the pregnancy, I feel so grateful for that amazing body that allows me to live that magical experience of creating life and I'm embracing my imperfections. All that to say the photoshoot was the perfect way to end that cycle of negative thoughts and shame I had for years towards my body.
