Mara Elephants

from $745.00

Giants of the earth. This photograph was taken in the Masaai Mara game reserve in Kenya, East Africa. The African bush elephant plays an important role in the environment in which they live. In the dry months, they dig holes in river beds to access water to drink and in turn create water holes for other animals. They trample over vegetation when they migrate tilling the soil as they pass creating biodiversity as seeds are naturally spread and plants in the undergrowth can catch the sunlight. Nature working in harmony.

The greatest threats facing elephants today are poaching conflict with humans, drought, and habitat loss.
