I call this image Proud Turkana because she stands strong enduring the harsh conditions of her habitat. Her tribe the Turkana is named after Lake Turkana, a vast saline lake in northwest region of Kenya often called the Jade sea due to its green colour. The ear jewelry (NakaparaparaI), are worn by both woman and men which are made by the men of the tribe from aluminum. Married women and men wear labrets that cut through their lower lips.
