I call this image Proud Turkana because she stands strong and proud enduring the harsh conditions of her habitat. The ear jewellery (Nakaparapara), is worn by both the women and men in the tribe. They’re made by the men of the Turkana tribe from aluminum. Married women and men also wear a labret that cuts through their lower lip. (Black and white image with slight sepia tinge)
