The layered money is Kenyan shilling notes. The money represents the illegal ivory trade. The blood hand represents the poachers who have blood on their hands, hence the title of the work Blood Money. The raised hand also signifies that we have to STOP the illegal ivory trade before humans wipe out an entire species.
It’s estimated 100,000 African elephants have been slaughtered by poachers in the last 3 yrs.
